This year (2020-21), the journal will begin in an informal manner with peer-reviewed publications from our own graduate students. While this medium of publishing is not the ‘higher’ standard and journal we are aiming for in our academic careers, we are hoping this year to provide an opportunity for our peers to get: a publication under their belt- perhaps for CV bolstering; the chance to publish a variety of work; and, the opportunity for current grad students to gain editing and feedback skills. This year is the one-time chance to publish in a graduate journal as we transition to the new role of supporting undergraduate students. The re-envisioning and success of the department journal will also boost the department’s visibility/ offerings for both potential incoming graduate and undergraduate students.
